Helping protect the people and plans that matter.
Protection is about making sure your family and your home are looked after if the unexpected happens. I will explain the options without the jargon.
Types of cover
Life insurance
Pays out a lump sum or regular income if you die during the policy term, helping those you leave behind with costs such as the mortgage or day-to-day living.
Critical illness cover
Pays out a lump sum or a regular monthly benefit if you are diagnosed with a specified serious illness that is covered by the policy.
Income protection
Provides a regular income if you cannot work because of illness or injury, subject to the policy terms.
Family income benefit
Pays a regular income to your family if you die during the policy term.
Please note: protection policies are subject to terms, conditions and exclusions, and may not pay out in every situation. Cover usually has no cash-in value if you stop paying. I will explain these points clearly before you decide.
Why it often comes up with a mortgage
A mortgage is usually the biggest commitment most people take on. It is worth thinking about how the payments would be met if your income stopped or if you were no longer here. I can look at your cover alongside your mortgage so it all fits together.
Common questions
Do I need protection if I already have cover through work?
Some employers provide cover as a benefit, but it varies and may not follow you if you change jobs. It is worth checking what you have and whether it is enough.
Can I arrange protection separately from a mortgage?
Yes. You do not need a mortgage with me to talk about protection.
What if I have health conditions?
Insurers consider your health when pricing and accepting cover. It is worth having a conversation so I can explain what to expect.
Want to talk about protection?
A short conversation is often enough to see what is worth considering. Evening and weekend appointments are available.
